~ FYI ~
Add Your Cell Phone Number to the National "Do Not Call" List !
Call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National "DO NOT CALL" List. It will only take a minute of your time.
(You have to call from the cell number you want blocked.)
It blocks your number for five (5) years.
Thanks to Rich F., Ben G. and Pete P. for this great Tip!
Note: I went to the website and checked my number (regular land line) and they sent me an immediate e-mail stating that I registered 8-29-2003 and that I am good until 8-29-2008! Check Yours! - Sam J.

Update: 6-8-06 Comments: While it's true that the major wireless phone providers (Verizon excepted) have announced their intention to establish a 411 directory of customers' cell phone numbers beginning in 2006, it is not true that they plan to "publish" said directory for any and all to read. Participating companies say the numbers will be made available only with customer consent, and only via telephone to users who dial directory assistance and pay a fee. In any case, the Federal Trade Commission does allow cell phone users to add their numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry — the same one already in force for landlines — either on the Web or by calling 1-888-382-1222.
